SHOW AND TELL:

Joy brought along a sample block that she is considering for next year's Rainbow Scrap Challenge:

Along with her "L" & "H" charger bags made from recycled T-shirt sleeves:

Dee Dee is finishing the last bit of the binding on Harbor's Quilt:

cute pieced back!

Cheryl K. showed off the quilt that her friend mailed to her last week.  The friend's grandmother made the quilt for her in 1950.  Cheryl is keeping the quilt to preserve it from HI humidity:

Britt has a bunch of stuff "in process" and need some opinions concerning the borders for THIS quilt:

And showed off her Tuscan Solstice (Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice mystery):

But she's wondering about the pieced backing that is under construction:

Helena has been working on THIS quilt:

And needed help deciding on border placement:

I believe the general opinion was for RED on either side of the triangle border:

Here is a close-up of the most likely scenario:

Ella "jumped in line" because she needed to leave early, but she wanted to share the new quilt that she made for her dining room:

Some of you might recognize the inner border fabric that she bought in Houston:

Ella's sister is trying to steal it, but she is more of a Van Gogh person.  Ella has a panel that may sway her from thoughts of this Tree of Life quilt!  Yes.  It's a panel that has been expanded with the addition of another fabric.  Britt used the same technique with a piece of fabric that she wanted for the back of a quilt, but didn't have enough to use alone.

Gayle - TELL - Her husband, Steve, has a golf cart that he drives all over their 5 acres of property.  Well, there's a wren that follows him (and the golf cart) around the property!  Gayle went with him one day because she didn't quite believe it.  When Steve gets in the cart the wren flies off and when he arrives at his next location and exits the cart, the wren returns.  It turns out that there's a nest under the golf cart!!  AMAZING!!

SHOW - She used Quilter's Dream Request (light-weight) batting purchased from Wish Upon a Quilt in the queen-sized topper that she made for her king-sized bed:

Cheryl B. - TELL - Paid only $7.35 for a old white Elna sewing machine!  $30 for a Featherweight table.  She passed on a $50 hand-crank machine 30 years ago and STILL regrets it!  Has FIVE treadle machines (including a Lotus design Singer which, according to Britt, is RARE in the U.S.)

She was working on a $10 "Cheater Panel" that was purchased at Mary Jo's.  It's for a woman at church who just had a baby girl:

Cheryl also brought out the tins that she keeps sewing supplies/projects for the girls she's teaching how to sew AND the quilt that she worked on as she was teaching them:

She loves a striped binding and some sparkles:

Linda - TELL - She recently got an old treadle machine from her BIL's house. (And kindly gifted Britt another one whose cabinet was in rough shape).

Once Show and Tell was complete, we broke for lunch... YUM!!!

Afterwards...

Five members of our group stayed to quilt for the afternoon...

Or, in Gayle's case, cut:

Linda worked on her Dragonfly Quilt:

Britt set up her Featherweight machine...

For sewing borders around some Tiny Nines:

Joy sewed additional strips on her Rainbow of Crumbs blocks:

Cheryl B. continued to hand stitch the binding on that baby quilt:

We enjoyed a peaceful afternoon of working on our quilting tasks in Cheryl's spacious studio.  Thank you, again, Cheryl.  We LOVE your Quilt House!!

Until next time...
Keep Quilting!!!

Footnote:
Hello Ladies
Per our conversations on Saturday about irons, I purchased a Black & Decker Professional Steam Iron at Walmart. It was less than $25 and I am very happy with it. It is a good weight, steams well, has an 8 minute shut off, and gets hot at 1500 watts.
I had a wonderful time with you all.
Hugs
Gayle
