7/9/15 - CCLQ @ Jean's

Today's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters was held at Jean's house.  We had a fairly good turnout, but would you believe that Ruth B. ALMOST missed it, again?!  She had NEVER made a meeting at Jean's before!!!

The quilty offering...

Joy's "not so quilty" electronics charger bags:

"P" for cell Phone and "K" for Kindle E-reader
Candy was busy cutting fabric for her grand daughter's quilt (due in January):

Deborah cut MORE triangle pieces for her daughter's 30th birthday quilt:

Dee Dee showed off Harbor's baby quilt.  (She has the binding to sew down):

Oh, NO!!! Stellar photography skills at work. Sorry!!!
Here's Harbor's name in nautical flags...

And Sarah P. quilted in his name above the flags:

Gayle worked on sewing the binding down on HER new quilt (as opposed to another donation!):

It's the Quatrefoil Quilt from Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company:

Oh!  Take a look at the pieced back that Dee Dee added to Harbor's quilt:

Cheryl's friend who lives in Hawaii mailed this quilt to her to preserve from their damp climate:

Here's a close-up of the Morning Glory design:

Joy brought one of her two hand dyed shirts for Dee Dee to see in person:

Joy closed all those pins she placed in her Donation Quilt last Tuesday at the NT Night Meeting:

Jean shared an art piece made during her "Journal Quilt" days:

Say goodbye...

It's getting donated to the Animal Rescue Auction:

Here's the back of Jean's 1st "Modern" quilt:

It's a baby quilt made with fabric purchased on this year's Mary Jo's Field Trip...

and quilted using her walking foot after taking a (worthwhile) Craftsy Class with Jacquie Gering:

Jean also felt compelled to make a political art piece...

In response to the Supreme Court's June 26, 2015 ruling legalizing gay marriage:

This is a closer shot (in case Jean moved before the picture was taken):

And a shot of a hand-written excerpt of Justice Kennedy's closing paragraph of the ruling...

Which Jean printed on organza:

She used a variety of techniques and materials in the beautifully done piece:

Ruth showed up late(r) than normal with grandson, Brennan, in tow.  She brought a small bag of scraps for Joy (Thanks, Ruth!!)  and spent the bulk of her time down in the Train Room.  We are just happy that she chose to come be with us for a little while.  :o))

Until next time...
