2/11/16 - CCLQ @ Deborah's

Today's CCLQ meeting was held at Deborah's house.  We did the usual things.  The 9 of us chatted like we hadn't seen each other in MONTHS, we had coffee and treats:

Then...

We settled down for some Show and Tell.

While waiting to begin, Joanna looked through a quilt book:

Ella worked on some binding:

Cheryl K. attached a label:

Candy stitched on binding of a Donation Quilt:

Deborah was knitting something purple and blue:

Dee Dee worked in her sketchbook:

And shared this photo of the Comfort Quilt that she made for her hairdresser:

Ruth S. sewed down the binding...

... On THIS Donation Quilt that Joanna made:

It is her Salute to Bonnie Hunter!!

Gayle gave me a cheesy grin when I photographed her ongoing Hexie Project:

Then she shared her 1st painting in ages. It's done in acrylics:

Well done, Gayle!!

Cheryl K. has been busy QUILTING!!  Baby Quilt One:

And the BACK:

Baby Quilt Two:

And the FRONT:

Here's a reminder what the tops look like (since I forgot to take full shots.)  Sorry!!  (I was focusing on what a good job Cheryl did with the quilting.)  Congrats, Cheryl!!

Joy was decked out in her Valentine's Jacket today.  You can see a bit of it in the photo below, as she looked through a Modern Patchwork magazine:

Cheryl K. showed us a photo in a book that she doesn't recall buying:

She thought that it might make a nice quilt:

See this beautiful knit pattern:

It's a hand knit sweater that Candy has had for YEARS.  She recently made the cowl that she's wearing in the photo below:

Here she is showing off her newest Quilted Table Runner:

Mark another UFO off the list:

Congrats! on your newly completed project:

Nice use of one of the decorative stitches on your machine:

Dee Dee showed off the Grumpy Cat created in EQ (by Joanna?):

Speaking of Joanna...  She and Ella had something to show.  It's amazing what you can make with a "Cheater Quilt" (cut apart and put back together again!):

Add some machine quilting:

And... WOW!!!  Nice job, ladies:

Deborah passed around her copy of Cabin Fever:

The BIG NEWS is that for half of the meeting, we were WITHOUT POWER!!  Fortunately, Deborah's house has a lovely wood-burning stove in the next room.  We stayed nice and cozy.

Before long, Dee Dee's Lunch Alarm went off and the weekly negotiation took place before we decided on Monterrey Mexican in Carrboro.  Eight of us enjoyed a delightful meal, while the others went about their day.

Until next time...
Stay Warm!!!
