2/16 - NT Nights @ the Hboro Library

Yesterday, many were "iced in" due to a Winter Storm that dumped about a half inch of snow and ice on Hillsborough and the surrounding area.  There were 100-some-odd quilters saddened by this event.  Members of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee family more than most!

Why???

Nimble Thimbles/CCLQ member Gayle was slated to be the speaker last night at the Durham Orange Quilt Guild Meeting.  We were looking forward to her 52 (Donation) Quilts in 52 Weeks presentation.  Here's hoping they will reschedule for later in the year!!

Members of NT Nights were hoping that conditions improve so that we could meet at the Orange County Library for our monthly meeting.  I realize that it's NOT the LAST Tuesday of the month, but it was the ONLY Tuesday that we could get for this month.

We got LUCKY!!!  Rains during the night (and 50 degree temperatures) washed away all of the ice in our area.  Six members of NT Nights gathered for an evening of quilting fun.

Britt worked on her BIG applique project:

Karen brought some books to look through:

Victoria shared her Confetti Quilt top...

... And the Christmas Quilt that she built from 5 blocks won at DOQ:

Bo didn't give me time to get a shot of the front of this wall quilt...

... because she was too excited about the quilting (done on her longarm machine):

She also brought the Horse Quilt that she made for her husband:

Here's a look at the quilting design:

Bo also brought the quilt that she made for her daughter:

THIS is the quilting design she chose for it:

She returned the two Donation Quilts made by Margaret:

LOOK at the adorable dinosaur quilting:

The second quilt got a different treatment...

... With stars quilted into the borders:

Britt surprised us with a completed Allietare quilt top.  She worked on borders last month:

Karen had a "play date" with Jean's gelli plate:

She enhanced her prints with the use of fabric markers:

This technique really adds a fresh touch to the prints:

She made use of her quilting stencils, too:

What interesting pieces her first attempt resulted in:

Bo shared a photo of the cutting/storage table that her husband built for Valentine's Day:

We should ALL be so lucky!!!

Leslie brought chocolate to share.  (Thanks, Leslie!)  Joy took photos and knit.  It's difficult to take AND be in the photos.  Oh, well... maybe next time.  :P

Until next time...
Quilt til you wilt!!!
