6/2/16 - CCLQ @ Ella's

Welcome to this week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  This week, notes and photos were provided by Jean.  Thank you to Ella for hosting and to Jean for standing in for Deborah, as our assistant editor was on vacation and couldn't attend the meeting.

Apple Gingerbread Crumble:

Barry checking in:

Rumor has it that there is a "Husband for Rent" program as he knows how to get things fixed free!  Dee Dee's got him first.

Candy crochet:

Candy new bag:

Pattern was one that Britt was working on (had just completed) at (the Sew Day at) SECU FH (Family House.)  Made of silk that's been around for awhile.  Called for 2 pockets.  She did 4.  Over Achiever.

Ella using fabrics that she purchased in Houston:

The trimmed triangles left her with enough for tiny pinwheels:

She has 70 of the big blocks and will make 2 quilts for twin beds:

Gayle needed a mindless sewing project so set to making pillowcases.  Used Christmas fabrics:

Joanna with idle hands:

She was almost on her way to Symposium and had already mentally tuned out!

Ruth busy at Ella's machine working on ???:

Dee Dee removed the small hand stitches from the stems as the looked like ants:

She is now using larger stitches and we all agreed it looks great:

Dee Dee Also a pack of 10" squares and a pattern to ask Joanna if it is enough fabric?

Gayle blew up the design but changed it:

Now she decides she likes the original design but will have to blow it up without changes.

Jean's Nausea quilt:

Nobody liked it.  Question of what to put on the back.  Batik would be nice but not comfy for a cuddle quilt.  Candy suggested flannel.  Jean has enough leftover cut strips to make a lasagna back but that would make it so stiff.

Jean's thread painted doggies for Willie's groomer's birthday tote bag.  Cute:

Ella's finished dining room flowers:

Forgot to take one of the new kitchen quilt.

Guest Editor comment:

Guess I'm fired!

Editor's Response:

Beggars can't be choosers, so we'll keep you (for now.)  :P

Guest Editor comment:

I tried my best to yell at people to "Hold still" and " Smile" in my Joy voice.  They said I was worse than you!!!

Editor's Response:

Haha... I suppose I did my job well then!!  :o))

Until next time...
Got reinforcements?!?!
