5/11/17: CCLQ @ Joanna's

Greetings to all quilt lovers and others reading this blog!  Welcome to the weekly get together of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  Six quilters gathered at Joanna's house for fun, socializing, and quilt related happiness.  Joanna served up some yummy Snickerdoodle cookies!  This week's surprise was a virtual hello from Ruth S in New York.  Be sure to read through the entire blog to see photos Ruth texted to us during the meeting.  Way to go with that technology Ruth! For everyone reading this blog, if you click on the purple highlighted words, that will take you the link for a pattern, shop, etc.

Stunning quilt in Joanna's foyer

Ruth B opened the meeting with much needed tell about unbelievably poor service from Time Warner Cable/Spectrum. One knows it's going to be bad when the repair man calls to say he's on the way and never shows up. Hum?  Is there quilt inspiration in this situation? I can see it now...a quilt with tangled cords, broken phones, and blank TV and computer screens.

Joanna just finished this marvelous modern quilt top which used Ombre fabric to frame each block and created a dynamic effect.

Another beautiful quilt by Joanna

Deborah showed her new lovely laundry room quilt.

Candy happily worked on binding for a table runner.

Terrific table runner

Candy shared some patterns.

Whimsical fabric that Candy will use on the back of last week's star quilt.

Britt has been busy making more colorful petals for her niece's quilt.
Britt created these amazing Geese Migration blocks.  Excellent use of  color Britt!  Free pattern if you click on this link

Visualize a lovely flower farm with infinite colors and varieties, visualize a flower quilt, and then imagine a fabric store....well Ella had a wonderful tell about an excursion to Big Bloomer's Flower Farm in Sanford, NC.  Barry, Ella, and DeeDee made their annual trip to Big Bloomer's this week.  After shopping for flowers, they wondered if there might be a fabric store near by and low and behold...yes!  They discovered FindX Designs in Sanford!  Ella said it was a wonderful shop and we should plan a Thursday field trip to visit FindX.

Looks what was on Joanna's design wall!

Here's a virtual show from Ruth S at the Bluff.  This beautiful quilt was made from fabric she purchased on last year's Shop Hop.

Thanks for sharing the photos from the Bluff Ruth!

Five famished quilters dined at the Bennett Point Grill.

Until next time, may inspiration and ideas find you and give you energy to make more glorious quilts!
