5/3/17: CCLQ @ Deborah's

This week eight quilters met at Deborah's home.  Everyone was excited to show their loot from the Scenic Route Shop Hop. Deborah was eager to show the group her recent home remodeling project. The group was delighted to receive a text message from Ruth S and who knows...maybe we will Skype with Ruth at one of our future meetings!

The master bedroom...Deborah made the quitled headboard!

The soaking tub...ahh..Calgon...take me away!
The shower......with a curb-less entry

Deborah prepared a delicious Raspberry Dream Cake made with cashew cream sweetened with honey and raspberries.

Candy made this delightful "Dazzling Stars"  donation quilt.  The group agreed it would be good for a little boy.
Who's hiding behind this wonderful quilt?  It's Ella!  She made this "Majestic Mountains" quilt.  It's a variation of a pattern from Missouri Star Quilting Company.

Ella won this fabric at last year's shop hop and made this awesome bag .

Jean may look happy, but dogonit his delectable doggy bone fabric that she needs for a project is on back order.
Jean showed this wonderful hexagon piece that she made with Gelli printed and stamped fabric.

Close up of the exquisite hand printed fabric

Jean also shared this work in progress that will be for the NCQS Silent Auction.

This is an art quilt made with plastic fabric, a felted branch and a hand painted appliqué  bird.

DeeDee shared this lovely art piece made from fabric that was rust dyed, then printed, stamped, and painted.

Here's a closer look...the piece also had cheese cloth applied with glue for texture.

Britt created this flower design for a quilt for her niece.

Here's how the flowers will look on the quilt.

A magnetic wand....just what our group needs especially when we go to Candy's house. Yikes. We're always loosing needles!  Joanna graciously brought these to give to group members. Thank you Joanna!!

Make a wish!  Britt demonstrated the extended magic magnetic wand.

Now for the Shop Hop show and tell.  Joanna found these lovely Stonehenge fabrics.

Here's the pattern Joanna will use for the above fabric.

If you can remember last week's blog about the Shop Hop door prizes...this is what Joanna won.  We won't disclose what Joanna plans to do with this fabric.

Here's Britt's stack of fabric.

A closer look

Candy selected this Grunge fabric or was that  Britt's fabric?

Candy plans to make this pattern with the fabric below....as I recall. I must confess that I didn't take notes about all the fabric!

This lovely pattern for a quilt will be made with...

this fabric using the yellow in place of the hot pink.

Ruth B had this charm pack and found background fabric to use.
Jean shared this notice about a fabric sale!

Here's a clever combination of fabrics...love those giraffes!
Ruth B found border fabric for this quilt.

DeeDee plans to make a summer bedspread with this wonderful Stonehenge fabric.

DeeDee won the door prize at Thread Runs Thru It!
Look what was in it!
More door prize stuff...nice fat quarter bundle...
Jean takes a closer look at that fat quarter collection.

DeeDee found this lovely bird fabric and...

butterfly fabric.
DeeDee purchased this block kit at Quilt Lizzy's.

Deborah found Tula Pink's Tabby Road fabric.

Deborah plans to use this whimsical fabric panel to make a wall quilt for her laundry room.
