8/24/17: CCLQ @ Cheryl K's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry  Creek Lane Quilters.  This week 8 quilters met at the home of Cheryl K's.

These quilters got the memo on wearing blue.

These quilters did not get the memo!

Hungry quilters gobbled up Cheryl's delicious peach crumble made with peaches from the NC mountains!

Gayle made this wonderful needle and pin case .

DeeDee's mother made this Chatelain and DeeDee gave it to Cheryl.

What an adorable tiny log cabin block on this Chatelain.

Joy enjoyed her cup of coffee and being with our wonderful quilt bee ladies.

Cheryl was happy to find out what the Chatelain was for.

Candy worked on a Dear Jane cross-stitch project.
Joanna and Candy finished their group project .

Britt worked on more lovely appliqué blocks.

Gayle shared this delightful wool appliqué that she designed.

Joanna shared this stunning Josephine's Knot quilt using Stonehenge fabric.

Joanna's incredible quilting on the back of the  quilt

This quilt was made by Cheryl's friend, Nancy.  Joanna  quilted this awesome quilt!

Deborah shared a applique quilt top made by her grandmother. The pattern is Honey Bee. This pattern is a variation and not sure when the top was made...maybe 1970's?  The blocks are hand appliquéd and hand pieced.  The borders were sewn by machine. Deborah plans to add borders and get Gayle to quilt this one.  It's on Deborah's UFO list.

Deborah's grandmother also made this pillow top to go with the quilt.

DeeDee made this beautiful quilt for her friend Charlie.  The pattern is called  "Butch's Breeze."

Cheryl showed this fabric that she plans to use to make a book bag for Steve.
Deborah shared this photo of the Police Support Quilt given to Captain Holland at the UNC Police Department.
The group had lunch at Zoe's Kitchen in Chapel Hill.

Until next time, have fun quilting!
