8/29 - NT Nights

Welcome to the August meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Night Bee!!  Even with a few members missing, we had a full house. Seven quilters enjoy a quilt-filled evening, including a guest (and/or potential new member?)  Welcome, Ann!!

Announcements...

The September meeting will be held in the upstairs study room!. Please be aware that work space will be limited!!

Show and Tell...

Joy arrived early and set up the tables:

Margaret arrived before long and got to work on binding her current quilt:

Joy brought her Rainbow Picnic Quilt, fresh off the rails of her longarm quilting machine:

Here's a closer look at the quilting, done using her Crazy Squares template board from Cirlelord by Loricles:

Margaret completed a new quilt for her oldest son:

Members and a guest shared in a discussion about quilting patterns:

Our guest, Ann, worked on a hexie project:

Ruth just returned from vacation.  This was her carry along project:

Let's see if we can get a closer look at her block:

Joy went shopping over the weekend!!  Fabric from the Piedmont Quilter's Guild Show and yarn from K's Closet, a delightful new store here in Hillsborough:

Joy and Victoria spent the majority of the evening chatting, since neither brought a quilt project to work on during the meeting:

What's this:

Patti is working on an applique quilt for a baby:

Karen is making an attempt at the 2017 DOQ Challenge Quilt:

She recently returned from moving her daughter to Houston, Texas. Just in time for Hurricane Harvey!!  On a positive note, Karen was able to visit the Texas Quilt Museum while there:

It was DEFINITELY worth the 3-hour round-trip from Houston to La Grange!!  The museum houses 3 exhibits simultaneously.

Until next time...
