8/31/17: CCLQ at Joanna's

This week nine of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters ventured to the top of the hill in Hillsborough to show, stitch and tell at Joanna's.

DeeDee found some cool "zip-off"  trail pants at a thrift shop and was busy ripping the zipper out to make them into shorts.
Joy was so proud of her long arm machine quilting on her giant and colorful picnic quilt.

Everyone fell in love with the backing fabric for the picnic quilt.
Joanna worked on the binding for the Josephine's Knot quilt.

Joanna's big show was on her design wall... a stunning star quilt.

Joanna was commissioned to make this robustly red cover for a schedule book.
Cheryl B worked on this appliqué project.

Here's a picture of the quilt for Cheryl's appliqué block.

DeeDee's quilt for Charlie is quilted!  Thanks to Cheryl B who did a fabulous job.

Hoorah!  Cheryl B finished the top of the hexagon quilt! Many hours and countless hexagons went into the completion of this antique quilt top.

Ella shared her snowflake quilt which will go on one of the twin beds. Ella is making two of these quilts!

DeeDee shared some fabric that she purchased at the Piedmont Quilt Show.

Cheryl K was not going to show these blocks.

Ok...when you have a group of quilters, blocks will be shown and  a plan will evolve!

Lime green or dark green sashing?

Cheryl K completed a T-shirt quilt made of t-shirts from the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.

We were so glad to see Ruth B at bee!  Ruth will be in her new home in about a month.
Joanna and Candy delivered the support quilt to the Orange County Emergency Chaplains and Jiu-Jitsu  group. The emergency chaplains are being trained to use jiu-jitsu techniques to help de-escalate people in a rescue situation.

Deborah did not have a show, but told that she has added the borders to the Honey Bee Quilt.

Candy worked on her Dear Jane sampler and  reported that she has been busy quilting on Lily's quilt and sewing a quilt for baby Noah.

Joy announced that K's Closet has moved to a new location in downtown Hillsborough. Maybe we need to visit K's after lunch next week!

The group had lunch at Bennett Point Grill.

Until next week, happy quilting.
