12/12/19: CCLQ at Gayle's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  On December 12th,  twelve  quilters met at Gayle's home. These quilters know how to celebrate the season.  Enjoy all the photos and tips about quilting!


Gayle's wonderful painting of a seaside snowman greeted quilters at the door.


Gayle created these lovely ocean inspired stockings for her mantle. 
Gayle made these colorful gifts for everyone.  She made eye masks and lovely handmade books using gelli printed fabric and papers. Thank you Gayle!
Here's another holiday wall quilt created by Gayle. 
Gayle's taking a break from quilting and focusing her energy and talent on acrylic painting.  Here's a beautiful landscape  she completed last week. 
Gayle came up with a new technique of combining small pieces of fabric and acrylic paint for this colorful piece. 
Gayle shared her fabric from Pineapple Fabrics.  She plans to use these solids for the new fiber and acrylic method. 
Maggie has been very busy and productive. She made these whimsical microwave bowl holders. 
Maggie finished this masterpiece of a Quilt As you Go quilt with the blocks constructed using a log cabin method.

Maggie used fabric from Jean's stash to make this awesome QAYG donation quilt.

Here's another beautiful pin wheel quilt top by Maggie.  The pattern was from Sew Mamma Sew.

The backing has cute kitties. 
Ella brought  surprise gifts from her friend Debbie who joined us last week for the Pineapple Fabrics shopping trip.  Debbie gave these gifts to the quilters at Pineapple last week.  Ella brought more gifts from Debbie for those who didn't go to Pineapple.  
Debbie made the most delicious homemade Christmas candies! Thank you Debbie for sharing such a special treat with the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!
Lynda shared her most recent Sue Spargo piece called the "Argan Tree."

Ruth B shared her wonderful kitten fabric from Pineapple.
Candy sewed up an colorful shopping bag. 
This year Candy made several holiday draw string bags.


Candy also created some net produce bags to help cut down on using plastic. 
Candy asked for advice from the group of what to make with this gorgeous Batik fabric from  Indonesia.  Many ideas were shared.  Be sure to read subsequent blogs to find out what Candy creates!
DeeDee purchased a new iPad and created this wonderful case for it. 
DeeDee finished her wonderful collection of fabric grocery bags for gifts. 
DeeDee also shared a couple of quilt patterns.

Ruth S didn't have a show today but had a hilarious story to share about bridesmaid dresses. 
Carol was the winner of the Pineapple key chain and will get it from Joy at the next Sew Saturday! Carol found this wonderful black lab pattern at Pineapple.  She plans to use it to make a tea towel for her son. 
Carol found quite an assortment of charm packs at Pineapple and is making some cool coasters for gifts. 
Joanna found this lovely gray fabric at Pineapple and plans to make a table cloth. 
Jean is making a quilt for her son who is coming to visit during Christmas.

Deborah is making a flannel Christmas quilt for her granddaughter.
