6/11 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE

Welcome to this week's Virtual meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!!  We have been gathering on Zoom for the past 13 weeks.  Thank you to Deborah for arranging our meetings and taking notes.  These 11 friends were able to join in and share their projects:

Thank you to Jean for capturing this week's group portrait!

Show and Tell...

Candy...

Shared a bit of Bee Business concerning our Summer Schedule.  She proposed that we simply reuse the Spring Schedule and fill-in any duplicates with Linda and Lynda Mac.  (Everyone agreed with the idea and the new hostess list has been posted on the CCLQ tab at the top of the blog.)

She also shared the Fabric Photo Frames that she made for her granddaughter...

... And her grandson:

Deborah...

Showed off the fabric that she purchased at Mulberry Silks via curb side pick up...

... Along with some other items necessary for her project:

She also shared her Pineapple block:

Joy...

... Has been on PINK overload!  Here is her basket panel:

The top for her PINK Kitchen Quilt...

... And progress on the mini for her Gallery Wire:

Joy also shared the Custom made Quilted Scrap Basket...

... Made as a prize for a drawing on her blog.  The winner had trouble deciding what color she wanted so Joy made "Red. All colors? NO PINK!" using the entire request as her guide:

Ruth B...

... Had a TELL - She is working on 4-Patch block and plans on making a Pineapple block.  Ruth has also made more masks and made some progress on her Black and White quilt.

Britt...

... Had a TELL - She has accepted a Quilt commission for some friends and will be working on a Tree of Life design for that.

She is almost done with reproduction quilt's binding:

Britt has also been doing some watercolor painting:

Cheryl K...

... Had a TELL - She mailed off 2 quilts this week and she is working on her butterfly wall hanging.

Maggie...

... Had a TELL - She is planning to paint two of the three rooms upstairs.  There will be a BIG change in her sewing room once the painting has been completed.

For her Show, she was working on removing the zipper from this old CD case.  She will repurpose it by making some sort of bag:

Maggie showed us the Pineapple block made from fabric with fusible leftover from a class at NC Quilt Symposium a few years ago:

She also showed off her Block of the Month for June:

Maggie is pleased to have this Row by Row from 2015 together...

... Either way you look at it, it is SEW cute:

This is a close-up of the fish...

... And another look at the colorful HSTs that she shared last week:

Dee Dee...

... Shared yesterday's ICAD card:

The reason for the design?

Well, that was her TELL - She took the Storm at Sea quilt that she has been working on to Suzan @ Singing Stitches for quilting yesterday and she is SEW happy to have it out of her house!!!

Linda...

... Is excited about the last day of school!!  Her TELL - She is almost done with the last of her work before RETIREMENT at the end of the month.  (Congratulations, Linda!)

Ella...

... Is working on a new batik quilt:

She had a TELL - She's trying to decide about a background fabric for the quilt on her design wall.  (A number of members chimed in with suggestions.)

Jean...

... Made white silk pj bottoms and this silk top:

She finished zebra baby quilt:

Here, Jean points out the trouble with the eyes, which she ultimately chose to machine embroider:

She used a fun black and white stripe for the binding:

The nose provided another challenge.  Her (brilliant) solution was to add rickrack over the seam lines:

Jean is now contemplating what to do with this Star Panel...

She says we'll have to wait and see, but she may even chop it up:

Virtual Additions...

Ruth S. reported in with a TELL:  "Crazy weather night- not much sleep, but has started Amy’s atmospheric quilt. See you next week."

She sent nature photo from last night's walk:

Jean sent a photo of the (panel) backing of the Zebra Quilt:

This is a full (clear) view of the front of the quilt:

Close-ups, as requested:

Tricky rickrack to camouflage messy snout seams:

Candy's sent better pictures of the Fabric Photo Frames for the grands:

Britt sent this photo after finishing her Repro quilt:

Please contact Joy, if you notice any additions that need to be made in the meeting notes.  Thanks!

But, WAIT!!!  There's MORE...

Another group shot was taken AFTER the majority of our members went off to do other things, as Joanna joined in upon returning home from the morning's appointments:

Apparently, we were a bit distracted and looking every which way for the photo.  Maybe we should try that again:

Joanna...

... Was pleased to find several of us still online.

Those of us who stayed online were treated to...

A look at the awesome squares that she has been making:

Until next time...
Quilt. SEW. Eat. Repeat!!!
