6/18 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE

Welcome to this week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!!  Thank you to Deborah for scheduling our meeting and to Carol for hosting today.  Let's not forget Ruth B!  She filled in when our hostess was having computer problems. Thanks, Ruthie!  And, of course, a BIG thank you to Jean for this week's group portrait:

ANNOUNCEMENTS...

*Next week bring pineapple block and  Disappearing 4 patches To Ella’s.  Looking forward to next week’s meeting at Ella’s!  Can you believe it???  After 3 months, we are finally risking a LIVE and IN PERSON (masked and socially distant outdoor) meeting next week.  :o))

SHOW AND TELL...

Carol...

... Her internet connection was in and out.  ??? Show and tell?

She had a TELL - She found these orphan blocks and later sent photos to share on the blog:

Carol also found a bunch of leftover HSTs:

Deborah...

... Finished the silk robe she started after last week's meeting:

She thanked Jean for giving her such exquisite fabric and shared what she learned about sewing with silk:

Wash silk on gentle cycle so it’s machine washable. Used rotary cutter. Silk pins. Steam a seam tape was very helpful for narrow hems. Hand basting and using a walking foot was essential to attach the band. Silk pins got sticky residue from steam a seam. Cleaned them with dryer sheet. Candy suggested iron-off hot iron cleaner by Dritz. Jean suggested faultless cleaner.  Lots of good tips today!

Ruth B...

... Made progress on her black and white quilt.  DeeDee came over and helped with the design:

Maggie...

... Showed off her handiwork.  The blue room is all painted:

Maggie also completed her Pineapple Pieces block...

... Using a small zig zag stitch:

Maggie also had a TELL - She has worked on sewing room!

Ruth S...

... Cut out atmospheric quilt, making Uneven 9-Patch blocks from her Jason Yenter fabric:

Ruth's TELL - She's been working in garden and will send 4patch blocks to Ella.  She's smiling, even though she will miss next week's LIVE meeting at Ella's:

Dee Dee...

... Is playing catch up. She made cat toys...

... From this book given to her by a friend:

Dee Dee also made this Disappearing 4-patch With a Twist donation block...

... Along with a "regular" Disappearing 4-patch donation block:

Dee Dee has begun work on her floral art quilt:

Lynda Mac...

... Showed us her blue square quilt top. She plans to add two more borders:

Lynda has also been working on her Bread fruit quilt block from Sue Spargo:

She also had a TELL - She is loving working in the garden.

Candy...

... Demonstrated how she plans to add name tags to the two cute Mod Cats quilt panels that she is making.  She shared Camellia, known as Cammie...

... And then P. Chip:

Candy used Invisafil thread and lowered the tension to 1.  She also used a size 16 needle for the stitching.

She is also working on a new donation quilt.  It's another done in the (original?) BQ pattern:

Britt...

... Has her latest BNP quilt for DS on long arm:

She used a leafy panto design:

The quilt is almost done.  It just needs a binding:

Ella...

... Had a TELL - She is working on her batik quilt from last week.

Joanna...

Jean...

She showed the pieces for one block on the design board that Deborah made for her for Christmas:

The embroidery quilt will be king sized...

... And will certainly end up an appliqué and piecing masterpiece:

Jean is using her Atmospheric Fabric by Jason Yenter and filling in with her stash:

Was this a "What have I done?!" look, Jean:

Joy...

... Shared her latest scrap project...

... And showed off the PINK Quilted Scrap Basket that she completed earlier this week:

Special thanks to Deborah for taking notes for today's meeting.  As always, please contact Joy if you notice any changes that need to be made in today's post.
