Farewell to a friend...
The Cherry Creek Lane Quilters are starting off 2021 with heavy hearts. Just as the new year was settling in, life was coming to an end for one of our bee members. Joanna passed away January 2nd, only a few weeks after the passing of her beloved husband, Rhett.
Joanna was a long time member of CCLQ and was always ready to greet her beemates with a smile and a hug...
Followed by a quick beeline to the coffee pot! :o))
... And had a way with creating terrific quilts, in a variety colors and styles, like this scrap quilt made from her some of her favored Stonehenge fabric line:

Joanna was a generous example to us all. She made many donation quilts each year and quilted many more charity quilts for others. We are SEW lucky to have called her our friend.

One example of her creativity was the time that she designed these shirts for our group's Shop Hop adventure and Britt (with a Sharpie and an iron) helped Joanna with bring the designs to fruition:
Here are the members who traveled with the group. Joanna can't hide behind those sunglasses...

Joanna went to the November 2019 DOQ meeting and purchased two patterns by Annette Ornelas. |
Joanna completed this unique table runner (Dec. 2018):

Jean sent a collection of other photos...

This is why we think of Joanna as the Quilt Engineer. Not ONE...

... Were on hand to celebrate Joanna's 80th Birthday in a most unusual way. You can read about that HERE.
Hoping the fabric is always on sale and your bobbin is never empty.
Miss you like crazy, JoJo!!
Until next time...
Sending quilty hugs!!
