10/8/15 - CCLQ @ Deborah's

Today's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters brought EIGHT members to Deborah's house. We started off with coffee and cookies, but ended up at Angelina's for lunch.

In the meantime...

Cheryl K:. brought sample blocks for her next quilt:

Deborah had a date with a seam ripper:

Ruth entertained herself with some applique:

This quilt decorated Ella's chair (while she went off to the other room to take a phone call):

Oh, NO!!!  Catch that coffee spill!!!!!!!

Whew!  Cheryl K . needed a color consult... NOT a coffee bath:

Dee Dee crocheted a hat to cover her ears on cold morning walks:

She is no longer afraid of paper-piecing (and now plans to tackle a Mariner's Compass Block):

Gayle added binding stitches to her latest Donation Quilt:

HERE is a closer look at Dee Dee's paper-pieced Flamingo Block:

After her consultation, Cheryl K. worked on binding her Blue Scraps Quilt:

(Even though this photo doesn't show it) Joanna did a lovely job of quilting Ella's quilt:

This photo shows Ella, showing off  Joanna's handy work:

HERE is a close-up of the additional quilting added to the yellow strips:

Then...

Ella passed around the pattern that she bought on her latest trip to the quilt store:

Along with the resulting wall hanging sized quilt top made entirely from STASH:

We asked for another look at Ella's Iris quilt:

Just LOOK at the quilting:

Joanna was marking batting for Microwave Bowls:

She got quite a lot done:

Joanna also puzzled out the directions for Ella's Pumpkin pattern:

Boxing the corners should do the trick:

Joy finished applying a quilt label:

Gayle only needs FIVE more quilts to fulfill her goal of FIFTY-TWO Donation Quilts for the year:

Who can resist lunch at Angelina's Kitchen in Pittsboro, North Carolina???  Only Joanna was strong enough to follow through with her plans for errands immediately following the meeting.  The rest of us carpooled down to Pittsboro.  Thank you, Jean, for introducing us to such a wonderful place to eat!!!  We all enjoyed an amazingly delicious lunch. (Even though there was no lamb on the menu today.)  Angelina told us that if we will call three days in advance she will roast a lamb for us.
(Thank you, Angelina!!)

Until next time...
Let's go sew!!!
