CCLQ @ Candy's 4/28/16

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters! This week's meeting was held at Candy's house.  There were 8 members in attendance and folks were so excited to see the show and tell from last week's Shop Hop.  We miss Ruth S!  Hello to all at The Bluff!

The substitute blogger apologizes in advance....there was a huge amount of show and tell and I got lots of photos, but did not take notes, so all photos may not have the correct caption. :)

First things first...folks grabbed a cup of coffee, tea or water and one of these decadent treats!

Joanna shared this wonderful BQ4 quilt and asked the question..."Borders or no borders?"

Gayle shared three of her paintings....sorry I could not get this one to rotate to vertical!

Gayle was busy making more Hexies in all different colors!
Here's the plan for Gayle's hexagon quilt project.
Ruth B. shared her collection of stuff from the Shop Hop.

Ruth found some beautiful variegated embroidery floss for her current applique project.

...and this lovely fabric.
Joanna's displaying a Frixion pen.
Frixion pens can be used to mark quilts and the marks are removed with heat from an iron. Extreme cold can bring the marks back...so be careful.
Ella shared this lovely bag from one quilt shop.

Here's another bag from Rose Patch Creations.

Ella won this door prize of fabric!!!
Ella had a great show but an even greater "tell!"  She and Barry encountered a police standoff after an appointment on Wednesday at Duke Hospital!  Glad they made it home safe.
Here's Ella's collection from the Shop Hop.
DeeDee was also a lucky winner of door prizes at the Shop Hop.

Here's a hummingbird block with fabric and a jacket pattern from DeeDee's collection.

More from DeeDee...

Guess who DeeDee was thinking of for this pattern?
How about this refreshing butterfly panel?!
More from DeeDee's collection

and more....

and no more from DeeDee!
Joanna found this cool pattern at the Shop Hop.
Here's the awesome fabric Joanna found for this pattern!

and a little more....
Joanna found this beautiful Stonehenge fabric or maybe it was a door prize???

I think this was one of the door prizes that Joanna won?

More of Joanna's collection...

Oooh....more...

Nice variegated thread...

This is "grunge" fabric by Moda.

Did Joanna win this set of fat quarters too?  Lucky...lucky.
Candy shared a new book.

Candy made this pretty baby quilt.

Here's a photo of a pattern for a "seat holder" for little ones who can't quite sit alone.

Candy is making this fabric to make a "seat holder" for her grand-daughter.
Jean is working on HSTs (half-square triangles) using hand dyed fabrics.
Wondering what Jean will use all those HSTs for?
 Here it is!

Jean shared a baby quilt....take a closer look at the quilting below.

Is this gorgeous?  Here's a link to the Craftsy class: http://www.craftsy.com/instructors/christina_cameli
Deborah was the guest blogger today and was so busy taking photos...she didn't have time to cut more tiny one-inch blocks for the wonky star quilt.

Seven of us dined at the lovely and delicious Mebane Downtown Table. http://www.themebanedowntowntable.com/

Until next week, happy quilting!!!
