9/1/16 CCLQ @ Jean's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  Seven quilters gathered in the kitchen area to admire Jean's gorgeous quilt as shown below.  While admiring this wonderful quilt, we also munched on blueberry muffins and fresh fruit.

This is Jean's amazing quilt made from silk neckties and cotton.

A closer look....

Ella was busy cutting some applique pieces for a new project.
Ella showed this wonderful quilt top made from fabric from her stash. The pattern is from Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Here's another fabulous quilt top made by Ella...she's really getting into her quilt stash.
More fabric from Ella...this will be for the borders and backing of the green quilt.

DeeDee created this art quilt using a printing method and thread painting.

A closer look....nice work DeeDee!
Candy made this lovely table runner for a wedding shower gift.
Here's a close up on the wonderful quilting on the table runner.  Candy also shared that she used "bobbin thread" which is a lighter thread... she only used one spool of bobbin for this project.

Here's a sketch by Candy for our police officer support quilt. There was discussion about our ideas for these quilts. Quilters are encouraged to have the design ideas ready by October 1st.
Jean was busy cutting more half square triangles.
Joanna shared her blocks and quilt design for a retirement quilt for a friend.
Look who's sitting next to Joanna.
Willie knows that Joanna loves his kisses!
Cheryl reported that she is quilting her bird quilt and preparing to travel to Italy.
Ruth shared that she just returned from a wonderful railway tour of Canada.
Deborah continued to make yoyo's for a fidget quilt.
Here's the fidget quilt on which the yoyo's will be added.
Willie had a show and tell too!
Willie's show and tell stole the show!
Six quilters went to lunch at Moon Asian Bistro.

Until next week, happy quilting!
