We were also greeted by THIS beautiful "Kitchen Quilt":
Have a closer look at the newest in Jean's collection:
Lots of chatting before the meeting began:
Several conversations...
... Going on at once:
In the midst of it, Willie was working the crowd:
Show and Tell...
... Began with Ella and her Peacock Panel Divided:
She also made another Stash Quilt...
... And created a background...
For a new applique project:
Carol worked on quilting her grandson's Halloween Quilt:
After missing some meetings, Gayle returned with a vengeance...
... with two purses that she patterned after one of her favorites:
She also brought along a set of Bowl Cozies:
HERE are some shots of the purse detailing.
... An interior pocket...
... And a "wallet pocket" on the front:
Gayle also made an iPad cover:
She used a button and a hair band for the closure:
She also made a Double-sided Scrappy Pillowcase:
THIS is the flip side:
Jean shared some new silk thread...
... As well as, her "Nausea" Quilt - now contained by a border:
Jean also shared the traditional folk art pieces received as favors at a Vietnamese wedding that she and her DH attended recently:
It's custom bag season at Criminal Knits... where it would be a crime not to knit along! Joy completed these this week...
... Then went on an adventure, which included a bit of shopping:
Britt discovered a new-to-her process for making stamps:
She and Joy took a class from Deborah Boschert:
THIS is her Class Quilt:
Before breaking for lunch, Britt did a zipper demo to share the techniques used in the Trail Tote by Noodlehead...
First, sharing her Mother's completed bag:
Then when walked us through the steps:
HERE is a close-up of how the zipper is positioned:
For her niece's bag, she altered the pattern:
Inserting the zipper on the interior of the bag to preserve the print on the exterior:
THIS is the flip side:
Getting the positioning just right is a bit tricky:
The outside...
... And inside of yet ANOTHER bag:
Britt also applied a patch pocket with an accent fabric:
It's pretty amazing that these bags come from a half-sheet of paper:
Jean brought down an example of the sticky-backed foam sheets for creating your own rubber stamps:
Willie is exhausted from all this quilty talk:
Hooray!! It's time to taste those BEAUTIFUL rolls:
But first, Willie's Show and Tell...
Here is a photo of him at a recent Dog Show in Raleigh. Will the REAL Willie, please stand up:
LOOK, ya'll!! Helena completed a project:
She is modeling her own (AWESOME!!) Trail Tote:
Until next time...
Just keep quilting!!!
