9/27/16 - NT Nights @ Hboro Library

Welcome to the September meeting of the Nimble Thimbles evening quilt bee!!  There were 8 of us in attendance and we welcomed a guest/new member.  I'll get to the introductions later.  First, let's see what everyone has been working on during the month...

Margaret set up a clip light in order to see the circles she was appliqueing to the center of her newest quilt:

Britt played courier for our friend, Diane, who had a bag of scraps for Joy... who shared a few as a delivery fee of sorts:

Since our last meeting, she and Joy went on a grand adventure to visit the Western North Carolina Quilt Guild and join them for a class with Deborah Boschert.  Joy has been following her blog for quite some time and was excited to find a class closer to home than at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas (where Deborah will be teaching this year!)

Kirsten was able to join us this evening and busied herself knitting:

What you didn't hear from these pictures is the  surprise in Karen V. and Bo's voices, as they realized that they knew each other from years ago.  (No wonder they each looked familiar to the other!!)

It turns out that their daughters were good friends when they were young!  Moves tore them apart, but now they find themselves living (for all intents and purposes) right around the corner from each other.  How cool is THAT?!?!?
