2/16/17 CCLQ @ Candy's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. Candy hosted our meeting this week and seven quilters attended.  A big thank you to Candy for organizing the Police Support Quilt project.  Our quilts are being delivered to area police departments and sheriff offices. The response to our efforts has been wonderful.

Candy and Ella delivered a quilt to the Mebane Police Department.  This quilt will be displayed in the conference room.
Candy and Joanna are seen in this photos with Sheriff Blackwood at the Orange County Police Office. Sheriff Blackwood plans to have this quilt framed.
Joanna and Candy are pictured here with Jonathan Daniel who was our initial contact at the Orange County Sheriff Office for this project.

Ruth B's quilt will go to the Carrboro Police Department.
DeeDee and Ella's quilt will go to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.
Deborah's quilt will go to UNC Police Department.  She's waiting on the patch to arrive.  We also discussed the symbolism of the thin blue line

Ruth S is finishing up the sampler quilt which will be donated to a lucky family!
Ruth S has been teaching her granddaughter to sew! She finished a pillow.  Here's a layout on her design wall that will become a baby quilt for a neighbor. Her granddaughter helped with the layout and suggested that they use pink for the border.

Ruth B is working on tiny cornerstones for her "Twirling in Reverse" quilt made with reproduction fabrics.

DeeDee is working on half square triangles. She has made 64 HSTs from scrap fabric in her stash!

DeeDee shared this wonderful sketch.  She's painting these flowers using Inktense Pencils pens and acrylic paint on canvas. Looking forward to seeing the results!

Candy's  daughter-in-law returned several quilted items to her.  Candy shared this quilt that was made for her son and former DIL's 30th birthdays.
