2/23/17: CCLQ @ Ruth B's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week six of us met at Ruth B's house on a beautiful early spring day!

Ella brought a bundle of bags to share.
Ruth B worked on the binding for her police support quilt.

Candy shared a photo of the Happypotamus stuffed animal that she's making for her grand-daughter.
Here's Candy working on the crocheted pieces for the Happy Hippo.

Candy also shared that the Mebane Police Department will put the photo of the police support quilt on their Facebook page.  Here's a link.  Of course you have to subscribe to Facebook to open this.

Ella shared that her grandson wanted to learn to make a quilt, so this past weekend, she taught him how.  Here's his wonderful quilt that he sewed and helped pin baste together.

Joanna finished her iPad bag!  Looks great!

Deborah is hand quilting the Lone Star quilt which her grandmother hand-pieced.  Only two more corners to quilt!

Joanna is working on a cross stitch project that she designed using the ECU logo
DeeDee sketched a bird that she plans to paint for a fiber art project. Plans are on the schedule for a fabric dying workshop at DeeDee's in May.
Ruth B worked on this lovely landscape quilt using embroidery as an embellishment.

Five quilters enjoyed lunch at the Saratoga Grill in downtown Hillsborough.

Until next time, here's a quote for all and especially for quilters who revitalize themselves by creating, doing, and making:

"The spring wakes us, nurtures us and revitalizes us. How often does your spring come? If you are a prisoner of the calendar, it comes once a year. If you are creating authentic power, it comes frequently, or very frequently." Gary Zukav
