5/12/18 - NT in the Wild @ the DOQ Donation Quilt Workshop

Welcome to another edition of NT in the Wild!!  In today's post you will hear about a recent guild-sponsored event.  I'm pleased to tell you that all three branches of the Nimble Thimbles family tree were represented.

I can be seen below sewing a Kids' Quilt kit, while representing for the parent group, Nimble Thimbles:

The next shot shows Joanna cutting fabric for quilt kits, as she represented the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters, our weekday branch of the Nimble Thimbles family:

And...

Here is Victoria, sewing a Quilts of Valor kit, while representing for the NT Nights branch of the family:

The quilt parts shown below are an example of what you might find in a QOV kit:

DOQ members contributed blocks to make the quilt for a local Veterans' Hospice, one of 70 such quilts the guild will provide the organization in the coming months:

The completed quilt shown in the following photo is one that was being replicated at the Donation Quilt Workshop:

Joy's knitting friend, Marian, has recently become a quilter and joined the Durham Orange Quilt Guild.  They teamed up to make the quilt top below:

It was a productive day of quilt making for a number of local charities, as guild members shared their time and talent to help others.  YOU can help, too!  Contact a guild member to find out how.

Bonus points:  We had a TON of fun, too!

Until next time...
Quilt for good!!!
