5/24/18: CCLQ at Deborah's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week nine quilters met at Deborah's home.  Lots of fun show and tell and a little surprise visitor.  Enjoy!

DeeDee brought some nice threads to share.
Jean embroidered this lovely rose for her jean  jacket.
Look...a nice dragonfly for the jean jacket....now everyone wants an embroidered jean jacket!
Jean made a few more bags to test out her Family house sewing project.

Aren't these beautiful!

Tip of the day:  when buying zippers for bags, measure to make sure the opening is 9 inches. Jean ordered a bunch of  9 inch zippers that had 7 inch openings. 😞

DeeDee was busy cutting bow ties for her kitty quilt.  The pattern was ironed onto a piece of fusible.
Close up..this is so much easier than pinning a bunch of small pattern pieces and then cutting them out one by one!!!
DeeDee also shared this wonderful quilted table topper pattern for a round table.

Gayle completed the quilting on this awesome Missouri Star Quilt Company sunflower quilt.

Joanna shared the border fabric for ...
this lovely BQ4 quilt.  Great color combinations Joanna! This quilt says "spring is here!"
We were excited to see Joy and the surprise visitor today!  Joy made this batik mug rug and is looking for a binding.
Joy made this clever mug rug with fabric selvedges.

Ella made these lovely microwave bowl holders.
Ella is making these beautiful placemats for her sister.   She asked for a vote on whether the background should be dark blue or the light print.  The group voted for light.
Candy rescued this cross stitch project from Linda!  Candy also shared photos of her granddaughter  playing on her colorful quilt!
Ruth brought a collection of quilting magazines to share and worked on her landscape project.
Deborah finished the quilting and binding on a quilt for her  granddaughter!
Future quilter?

Several quilters enjoyed lunch at Saxapahaw General Store Cafe!

Until next time, have fun whatever you're doing!!!
