7/26/18: CCLQ at Candy's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week nine members, a wee visitor, and two new feline friends met at Candy's home. DeeDee opened the meeting with a surprise "shower" gift for Candy's new feline friends.

Candy recently adopted  a couple of sweet kittens.  Here, Cammie is eager to explore the treats in the new kitten gift bag from DeeDee. The other kitten, Chips is rather shy, but keep reading you'll see him later in the blog.

Cammie is getting ready to pounce!

These wee mice will surely be a favorite with the kitties.

Wow...lots of cool surprises to keep those kitties busy and happy.
Candy showed the pattern for the yellow triangle bed runner quilt.

Everyone loves this pattern and the awesome quilting!
Today we had a rescue quilt!  Joanna rescued the blocks in this quilt from Ella's trash can. Joanna did a fantastic job creating a splendid quilt with wonderful color gradation.

Close up of Joanna's superb quilting!

Another view with dark blocks on top

Someone gave this picture to Joanna and said....this reminds me of a quilt you'd like to make...and....

Joanna is already on a roll creating this quilt with vibrant colors.

DeeDee shared this tulip block quilt from a  Missouri Star Quilt Company pattern.

DeeDee also worked on making a fabric stamp.

Margaret shared these colorful mug rugs for the Camp Chestnut Ridge Run winners.  Love the runners fabric!

Margaret is hiding behind this quilt back...yes...it's a quilt back for a baby quilt for her nephew.   We all agreed...it could be the quilt top.

Here's the adorable front of the quilt.

The sheep fabric is from this line.

Deborah finished two pillow shams from the left over blocks from the Dapple Quilt.
Deborah purchased these fabrics at Quilt Expo last week.  She plans to make a couch quilt for her daughter.

Deborah shared her the beginning of her BNP fabric choices using the Quiltography app.  These may not be the fabrics in her quilt but it was fun learning to use this new program.

Joy joined us briefly for bee.

Ella has been busy!  She got a free pattern at DOQ last week and has already made a bag.  This bag is big enough to hold a cutting mat and quilt supplies for traveling to workshops or quilt retreats.

Ella's grandson loves to doodle and created this beautiful design.  Ella plans to make it into a quilt block.

Gayle was at bee and the blogger forgot to get a photo of her....next week, the blogger will take more people photos!

Here's the beginning of Margaret's Blooming Nine Patch quilt.

Here's Candy's fabric for the Blooming Nine Patch project.

Candy made this fabric photo frame.

Ella was a door prize winner at DOQ and this is the lovely fabric and pattern she won.
Cheryl B shared her fabric choices for the Blooming Nine Patch.

Who's that hiding behind the door?

Please welcome Chips.  Isn't he adorable?

Quilters dined at La Cocina in Mebane.

Until next week,

Cut with hope
Stitch with grace
Quilt with dreams
Bind with laughter
Share with love."
