8/18/18 - NT @ C. Breeze Quilt Studio

WARNING!!!  PHOTO-HEAVY POST!!!

Welcome to the August meeting of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Bee!!  This meeting was all about the Blooming 9-Patch quilt.  Well, MOSTLY about the B9P!  There was some Show and Tell, too.  :o))

The meeting...

Nine quilters were greeted by Cheryl B's recently completed quilt.  A gift that she chose to enjoy before giving it away:

Joy got a new quilting T-shirt:

Britt and Candy chatted as everyone settled in:

Cheryl B. showed off her selection of fabrics for her B9P:

She went through a number of iterations...

Before settling on the arrangement below:

Margaret was inspired by a quilt that Ella quilted and sat down to finish this baby quilt:

Photo fail:

Here is the panel intended to be the front of the quilt:

Margaret brought her Circle Quilt from a 2017 NC Quilt Symposium class with Nancy Mahoney, quilted by Joy:

She found this panel on her own  personal Shop Hop on a recent trip to and from New Jersey:

Another beautiful panel:

Along with a bunch of other fabrics:

Margaret couldn't wait for our Quilt Along:

She also couldn't resist this adorable knitting FQ for Joy:

Ella made a sample of Jean's Crossbody Bag:

Cheryl K. found this sign at a little Amish Quilt Shop on her recent trip to Ohio:

She also found some cute fabric for baby quilts:

A backing fabric for her B9P:

Some fabrics for a quilt for her son and daughter-in-law.  Cheryl K. will add white for the other side of the HSTs.  Her DIL's choice!  DS wants a pop of orange/red:

As well as, backing for their quilt:

Britt shared a photo of It's a Blooming (9-Patch) Jungle:

Linda and Candy both came dressed in NT t-shirts:

Linda had a TELL:  She recently attended her 45th HS Reunion and had a good time.  There was a table with photos of departed classmates and a lovely poem.  Linda took a picture to send to Carol, whose husband had been in Linda's class.

Anybody know what THIS is???

Candy found this strange looking item (magnetic purse closure) while cleaning up around her sewing room:

She brought two embroidered trees from Jean for anyone who didn't get a 2018 NT Holiday Challenge block:

Margaret drew out a complete B9P plan based on a photo of a  partially completed quilt on Britt's design wall:

Here are the fabric strips for Cheryl K's Blooming 9-Patch:

Britt explained the process to the quilters starting the QAL today:

Cheryl B. is arranging things for lunch:

Joy shared a photo of her current T-quilt under construction:

Dee Dee had a TELL:  She's been cleaning up her studio and can't stay today because she is off to the Original Works group.  She left before I could get a picture of her, but here's a photo of some scraps she is gathering for a friend...

... Along with a photo of projects to be sorted:

Keep up the good work, Dee Dee!!

Joy also showed a photo of her B9P in progress:

After lunch, let the (Blooming) 9-Patch Party begin...

Britt showed how she is putting together her 2nd B9P:

Candy started by re-familiarizing herself with her travel machine:

Linda skipped the Blooming 9-Patch in favor of working toward finishing the quilting on her current baby quilt:

Here's an action shot:

Cheryl K. got right to work on sewing her strip sets:

This ruler was spotted with drawings on it using erasable markers.  It's used to determine if a motif fits within a given space on a quilt:

Here is Cheryl B. cutting her strips:

On a trip to the pressing station, this magnificent quilt was seen hanging in a corner:

Joy (finally) presented Cheryl B. with her CCLQ Christmas gift from the 2017 group exchange:

Cheryl B. shared her fascinating (collapsible) wagon:

It functions just like a portable baby crib:

Folded for easy storage:

Extended, it even has a tray table and cup holders:

The tag was still attached:

The website isn't clear in the photo below:

Ella brought along one of the "Joy" Baskets that she has made:

She worked on sewing down a hanging sleeve:

Joy prepared binding for a Donation Quilt and pressed block parts:

She worked to finish her next round of blocks:

Thank you, to Cheryl B. for hosting this month (and next!)  Thanks to everyone who brought treats to share and thanks to YOU for reading all the way to the end of the post.  :o))

Until next time...
Bee SEW productive!!!
