8/16/18: CCLQ at Joanna's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week seven quilters met at Joanna's. We enjoyed wonderful show and tell this week! Wait until you see what Margaret brought to show.

Gayle worked on her whimsical UNC art quilt.  She's embroidering lots of tiny flowers on the  "hill."

Margaret recently traveled to NJ and had a sensational shop hop on the way there and back! She went to eight quilt shops, please forgive the blogger for not getting the names of all those shops.   Margaret found this irresistible autumn fabric.

Surprisingly it's from Stonehenge Fabrics.

Here's another stunning fabric.

Wonderful reproduction fabrics
Lovely Christmas fabric

Hmmm...this may be for a knitter in our quilt group???

Novelty fabric

Haunting cat fabric....maybe for a Halloween quilt???

This will be the backing fabric for Margaret's Blooming Nine Patch.

Shop hopping makes everyone happy...especially Margaret!

Ella had a wonderful tell about her grandson's visit.

Candy showed this quilt made from fabric from a shop hop.

Candy remembered that we were to bring a quilt from the past.  She brought this quilt from a class Gayle taught on appliqué.

Candy shared this book about quilt borders.

This is a beautiful quilt Candy made using the blended border technique.

This is another one of Candy's first quilts. It was from Ricky Timms' convergence pattern.

Check out this wonderful quilting of little trees.

Ruth reported that she continues to work on the churn dash quilt and has been traveling a lot this summer.

Deborah showed the space quilt again and this time with an added embroidery.

Jean embroidered Deb's grandson's name using glow in the dark thread. The quilt also has glow in the dark stars.

Joanna also remembered to bring a quilt from the past...this is her first quilt made in the 1970's for her son.

Margaret and Ella admire Margaret's quilt which was quilted by Joy.
Close up of wonderful quilting by Joy!

Joy happily received a bag of scraps from Deborah.

Someone loved exploring Joanna's quilt.
Beautiful quilts on Joanna's long arm machine.

Wonderful colorful quilt by Joanna!

The group enjoyed having lunch at Bennett Point Grill of course.

Until next week, happy quilting!
