8/2/18: CCLQ at Deborah's

So glad you're reading about the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters! This week nine quilters met at Deborah's house.  After a few weeks of cloudy weather and rain...we had a sunny day!

Announcement: Sew Saturday at Cheryl B's on August 18th will be from 8:30-3:00.

Joanna started off the meeting with an offer of free fabric...frenzy!
Many hands got in there to select the just right piece.

View one of our meeting

View two....lots of sunshine...

Margaret did a great job quilting this wonderful baby quilt!

The back or front view....this will be a versatile baby quilt.

Margaret is happy that this quilt is complete!

Candy worked on the binding for her yellow quilt and shared information about Britt's family.
Candy also suggested that our group consider doing a donation quilt for the Redding CA fire victims.  Cheryl K found a quilt group in the Sacramento area that we could contact about this.

Gayle happily stitched away on her UNC art quilt.

Ella was very glad to report that she gave the baby quilt to her neighbors.
Her neighbors are involved with Table in Carrboro.  It's a non-profit with a mission to feed hungry children in the area.

Jean reported that Quilt Camp was over!  She shared this photo of her campers and their finished projects.

What's this????
Jean was busy cutting up her thrift shop fabric finds.  This fabric may not work for an art quilt, but it makes a lovely scarf.

Cheryl B found this lovely panel at the Quilt Expo.

Cheryl B also found this ruler at the Expo.  It's for long arm quilting.

At the July DOQ meeting, Cheryl chose this free Karen West pattern.

Cheryl B also shared these patterns she received for her birthday at DOQ.  Happy belated Birthday Cheryl!

Here's Cheryl B's Blooming Nine Patch fabric so far.....

It was fun playing around with adding more colors!

Here's Deborah's Blooming Nine Patch fabric....with the addition of Cheryl's purple...now Deborah needs to find a similar purple.

Here's another look at Cheryl K's memory quilt.

The back of the memory quilt has inspiring text fabric.

Deborah made this little bib for her granddaughter.  Here'a link to the free pattern.

I think Cheryl B got this pattern at the Expo....or was it Jean???

...and this fabric to make this clever collage quilt.

Four lucky quilters dined at Reverence Farm Cafe, near Saxapahaw.

Until next week, happy quilting!
