3/31/20 - NT Nights goes Virtual

Note:  Our editor was sick and missed the Early March meeting on 3/10/20.  A reminder to take photos was issued (and ignored.)  The quilters in attendance were too busy talking to take any pictures.  :o((

Welcome to the Late March meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Nights Quilt Bee!!  We are in the midst of a global pandemic.  Our state (and most of the U.S.) is on lockdown.  While we are observing social distancing and practicing self-isolation, here's hoping more of our quilting friends will send photos to share with the group next time!

(Virtual) Show and Tell...

Joyce chimed in to share her completed Frolic top:

That pattern is by Bonnie Hunter and was offered as a Mystery QAL.  It does not appear to be available for purchase.

Joyce's goal for today was to familiarize herself with her Handiquilter longarm which she hasn't used in about 2 years:

There are 10 quilts waiting to be quilted!!

Joy reports that she has been on quilting hyperdrive.  She has completed 1 mug rug and 2 mini quilts since her self-isolation began 12 days ago:

She also made progress on her niece's wedding quilt:

... Completed this Magic Stars quilt top...

... And completed this donation quilt:

Britt has been making face masks.  Here is the pocketed mask that she made this evening:

Note that this version will fit over a ppe mask:

Jean shared this photo of the quilt book Easy Peasy:

She's been busy in her spare time...

... Still working 8 hrs/day from home...

... Jean has been cutting quilt kits...

... For quilts for family members...

... And possibly some for donations, as well:

She has bagged the kits...

...  So the fabrics don't get mixed up...

... And was hesitant...

... To unbag them for photos:

There are TWENTY (20) kits in all:

Karen V. shared a TELL:

Hey, y’all. Apologies if this has already been shared and I missed it. Lots of information here about making protective masks.
Stay safe, everyone!

Victoria took Sharyn Craig's North Wind class in 2008.  She has been making blocks as an interim project through the years:

They are 6" blocks and decided on making 100 of them and then deciding on a layout.  Victoria has made 83 so far:

She also had a TELL:

"I miss you all! My mother in law passed away 5 weeks ago.I was one of her caregivers. So if we are ever allowed back to the Senior Center I will be more able to attend."

NOTE:  On behalf of the membership of NT Nights Quilt Bee, Victoria, we are sorry for your family's loss.

Margaret sent photos of the Row by Row she is working on...

... And the quilt top she just finished:

URGENT:  If you sent in a photo, but don't see it here, PLEASE contact Joy so that she can update the post!!!

Hey, Kirsten!!  What's the Flavor of the Week @ Whit's???  :P

Take care and stay healthy!  Missing you all.  Hoping to see you soon!  I'm wondering if we could possibly do a Zoom meeting next time.  Is there anyone technologically advanced enough to make that happen?  Britt?  Anyone??  I understand if no one is interested - it's a crazy time.

Until next time...
Sew. Quilt. Eat. Repeat!!!
