4/2/20 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE - Week 3

Welcome to this week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  This is our third week of ZoomBee due to the ongoing need for social distancing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Thanks go out to Linda, who is our new administrator for virtual meetings.  Thank you to this week's hostess, Joanna, in her attempt to keep us all on task.

Speaking of tasks...

Jean started us off by taking the screenshot requested by the editor:

Nice job, Jean!  Thanks for smiling, everyone!!

Show and Tell...

Dee Dee went first, sharing her Bunk Bed quilt, ready for assembly:

Joanna needed to rearrange her audiovisual equipment:

Jean worked on making face masks during the meeting:

Cheryl has been busy making face masks:

This is Joanna's next quilting job:

Ella is happy to be able to meet with the Bee on the internet:

Carol has been making face masks for her family members:

Linda admits that she hasn't been making very much progress:

Joanna recently completed the quilting on this quilt:

Carol found some more HSTs to play with...

... And made not one, but another two small quilts:

Deborah has been busy making face masks:

Gayle has been busy in her studio:

Maggie made a new table runner:

Deborah shared the Toilet Paper quilt she made this week:

Candy has been busy making face masks:

She felt like starting a new quilt using THIS pattern.  It's the Ridiculously Easy Jelly Roll Quilt from Michelle @ the blog called From Bolts to Beauty:

Jean shared her latest face mask:

She sewed channels on each end for one long fabric tie:

The upper "tie" goes behind your head and free ends get tied at the back of your neck.  This style is surprisingly secure and also fast to make.

Jean is using ribbon, which makes it even faster.  Not to mention easier on your fingers:

This style is appropriate for holding N95 respirator, as well:

Jean shared her completed (?) machine embroidered quilt:

Ella shared that she needs a haircut:

Dee Dee enjoyed a cuppa during the meeting:

Maggie looks like a professional quilt teacher with her newest quilt top set up over her fabric shelves as a backdrop:

Dee Dee has made progress on her Storm at Sea quilt project:

Gayle is starting her project from Mystical Quilts:

She found a light weight fusible product in her stash:

Gayle is showed us the packaging for the product she's using:

Cheryl needed to go get out in the garden:

As the meeting wound down, Joy asked, "What's for lunch?!"  The ZoomBEE was adjourned and we all said our goodbyes.

Disclaimer:  The editor apologizes for screen glare and shadowing/photographer reflection in today's photos.  She will try to adjust her lighting  before next week's meeting.  Also note that items may not be in the order you recall, if you were in attendance, and some (many!) details are not relayed adequately here on the blog.

Virtual Bee additions...

Gayle made a pillowcase to match her beautiful bed quilt:

Joy finished her Ella Quilt since last week's meeting:

She also completed the top of her Magic Stars quilt using the tutorial posted on her blog:

Britt tried out a different kind of mask:

She says it probably looks less like a boob when it's on your face:

Dee Dee moved some pieces around before assembling her rows:

Jean sent a photo of (what she claims is) the simplest mask ever:

Ruth S. Blooming 9-Patch (quilted by Joy) has been delivered:

A number of other projects have kept her busy.  Starting with this Slash and Whack donation quilt:

Frog donation quilt finished since last week:

In addition to face masks, the Dori and Ruth quilt has been delivered.  They worked on this quilt together.  It will be a gift for a neighbor who is expecting a baby boy at any minute:

Ruth also finished a Vehicle Quilt with leftover fabrics:

Dori completed this pillow darling pillow at home on her own:

URGENT:  If you sent in a photo, but don't see it here, PLEASE contact Joy so that she can update the post!!!

Until next time...
QUILT healthy!!

  1. One of my vintage sewing machine groups met online last weekend. It's fun to see everyone and see what they are doing.
