Welcome to this week's virtual meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!! Twelve members were present. Thank you to Jean for capturing this week's group portrait:
Thanks to Deborah for scheduling our meetings and to Joy (?) for serving as our hostess this week.
Show and Tell...
Deborah:
Block of the month for August is done:
... And the next block is kitted:
Continues to work on Storm at Sea:
Lynda:
Finally got through all the cutting for the Lorna Doone. About half way done with piecing:
She's SEW pleased...
... To be able to share her progress with us:
DeeDee:
Finished two Kaffe fabric table toppers for the living room:
Gave a beautiful Storm at Sea quilt to her doctor as a retirement gift:
She sent this collection of photos for the blog:
Carol:
Working on Halloween placemats for grandkids:
Found extra squares and blocks and made a table runner also:
Ella:
TELL - She plans to start Mineral Matrix quilt. Barry had a big birthday!
Barry photo bombed with this project, which Ella was kind enough to send a picture for us, as the photographer only captured a blur:
Candy:
TELL - Working on Fossil Ferns fabric quilt with GE design pattern. Needs a little more background fabric for her chosen layout. Her daughter has an Amazon shop and is selling elastic. Candy provided the LINK HERE for "PM Mercantile 50 yard elastic".
Cheryl:
Making masks...sent out 3 batches. Uses elastic on the top and a strap with a bead for the lower strap:
This mask works better for folks who wear hearing aids and tiny hair bands can be used instead of the beads shown above:
TELL - Finished donation quilt top for the bunk bed project. Hopes to get up with Britt to see if she’ll quilt it. May start the Storm at Sea with the new dissolving fusible product.
Britt:
Made a lovely cushion cover using Guatemalan fabric:
As an unplanned bonus, cushion and cat match:
She has been working on her 2nd twined rug, but hasn't been as obsessed as she was with her 1st twining project:
Jean:
She finished all the embroidered quilting in the middle section on the Atmosphere quilt. Used Aurifil thread. Gorgeous quilting!
Jean now feels that she needs to got back and quilt something in the squares that she left blank:
Also shared an idea for Deborah for piecing the Storm at Sea block. Alex Anderson tip: Alex shared information about Quilter's Select paper piecing fusible. It’s a fusible for paper piecing that dissolves when you wash the quilt:
There's also a product without fusible, as well:
Joy:
Added some cute shrubs on the modern house quilt:
Two more rows on Deborah’s quilt and showed her secret tiny block project for an upcoming Blog Hop:
Ruth B:
The moment we’ve been waiting for...the awesome black and white quilt top is 99% done:
Ruth needs ideas for borders for this quilt. She sent these photos to the group for input:
Ruth S:
Covered the couch with fabric from old curtains:
It’s canning time at the Bluff. Jeff is making pickles and Ruth made dilly beans and is working on a baby quilt for a new neighbor.
Hasn't been quilting, but her design wall got a refresh this week:
Thanks to Candy and Ella for putting up this Stonehenge project for her to enjoy.
Editor's note: Speaking of Candy, members of CCLQ are sending quilty hugs out to her, as her sister passed away earlier this week.
Until next time...
BEE sew safe!!!
