5/2/2024 CCLQ at Cheryl's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!

This week quilters met at Cheryl's home and did some reveals of the groups latest challenge; a Round Robin Block swap.

Candy is back with us Yeah and had big news her sewing room is open for business.  She can now put her RR challenge blocks on the design wall since the hashtag quilt is getting top&bottom borders of piano keys.  This is one of two she is making for a FH friend.  She shared two of the best get well cards she received.

Maggie showed her RR challenge quilt and an NC State baby quilt that has cute little bear faces on the back.

Cheryl revealed her lovely RR challenge blocks that have a great setting and borders.  She has a gold and burnt orange for the back.  Her final show was a chef apron for Stephen.  The middle border of cream fabric was an inspiration after she received it from Ruth S. who passed on fabric to downsize her stash.

Ruth S. has her patriotic RR challenge together and it is the perfect size to be a Quilt of Valor donation.  She has given her patriotic tote bag to be sold at either the DOQG Show or the Passmore Holiday Market.  She's still looking for the same blue for binding.

Carol's showed her supper bright RR challenge quilt that has an after quilt on the back with all the left over bits put together ... it's just so Carol all the way.  The back salmon/pink fabric was also some that Ruth S. passed on from her stash.

Linda is almost done with the sewing room reorg and has started on the first row of her RR challenge blocks.

Ella has been in the sewing room going through Barry's stash to see what she can possibly do with it.  One suggestion would be placemats for the Meals on Wheels program.
Sizes start at 12 x 16 up to 14 x 18.

Deedee's RR challenge was such a surprise and just so lovely.  She has some of her favorite fabric incorporated and proudly hangs it in the hallway of her home.

Deborah's Heart and Stars blocks just look stunning.  She was lucky to be able to identify each quilter's block and made a label on the back to identify each.  As a truely heartfelt sharing she gifted the finished quilt to Ella for little comfort and love.

Most of the group went to lunch since Ruth S. is headed back to the Bluff for the summer.  Safe travels Ruth and Jeff.

Don't forget the late arrival who pulled into the driveway ...
"Oh it's an older guy getting out of the car" .... Shaboom

So much fun with this group and scrumptious strawberry's and whipped cream.

That's it for this week!
